Stormy sky is winning shot in Suffolk Beauty

Image
Stormy sky is winning shot in Suffolk Beauty photography competition. The image, captured by Juliet Blaxand at Easton Bavents, came top in the new contest which was run for the first time this year. Organised by the Suffolk Preservation Society (SPS), the competition saw more than 100 entries sent in and scrutinised by judges Roy Fox, Linda Clapham and Richard Jozefowski. They were tasked with whittling down that number to a shortlist of just 10 photographs. Winners were announced at a ceremony at Haughley Park Barns on Monday. A photograph called Southwold Beach Huts by Kinga Ston came second, while an image named Ipswich Street Scene taken by Matt Huggins was third. Winner Juliet said her home – which is the most easterly placed house on the Suffolk coast – was the focus of her entry. The judges awarded her first prize because of the way she had captured the “atmospheric Suffolk sky”. They praised her placement of the histori...

Ex-Buccaneer’s Future In Doubt? Stars Expected To Decide On Rooi Mahamutsa This weekend’s draw with Golden Arrows alongside Bidvest Wits’ victory over Maritzburg United meant that the Amakhosi are now officially out race to land the league trophy, with it being reduced to a three-horse race.   SuperSport United also found themselves dumped out of contention this weekend despite a victory over Polokwane City, with the Amakhosi and Matsatsantsa now aiming for second and third place respectively.   Chiefs have bettered their tally of 46 points from last season – they currently have 47, however, it does guarantee that they will finish the campaign without a piece of silverware for the second consecutive year.    Having parted ways with Orlando Pirates at the end of last season, Mahamutsa went on to sign for Stars in December last year.  According to sources, the defender who will be turning 36 in October, was signed on a short-term deal by...

Three Days Usability Review

Image
Three Days Usability Review Three Days, by Gore Pixel Games, is a survival game in which the player has 72 hours to escape an island contaminated by deadly mutation agent called SCP. Collect resources and craft items to build a boat to flee before the island is bombed to prevent the spread of SCP to the mainland. As an Early Access game, there's a lot of work to be done in Three Days. The game's primary problem is that its tutorial is not an effective teaching tool, and leaves the player stranded and confused. When you start a game, you're first shown a tutorial. It goes through the basics of the game -- eat enough food, drink enough water, and keep yourself at a good temperature. The better your mood, the more quickly you move. And as you level up, you can get perks. This is fine, as it's showing the player different elements of the screen, it moves the white box and arrow to very clearly direct the player's attention. But while I might  int...
